KUCHING, Nov 21: Senator Rita Sarimah Patrick Insol was sworn in for a second terms as a member of the Senate yesterday (Nov 20).
According to Bernama, the appointment, effective yesterday until Nov 19, 2026, was made with the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
Dewan Negara president Tan Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, in congratulating Rita Sarimah on her appointment, believed she would contribute to raising the quality of debate in the Senate.
He said it was important for every member of the house always to make comprehensive preparations and studies to enable them to carry out their duties well.
Previously, Rita Sarimah, who is from Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), served as a senator from June 22, 2020, until June 21 this year. — DayakDaily
