KUCHING, Sept 22: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Central Women’s Wing doubts that Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) president Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh has the capacity to pursue his dreams for Sarawak.

The political party’s women wing was responding to remarks by Wong in a video clip about his “unfinished business” or “unfilled dreams for Sarawak”, despite having spent 30 years with the Sarawak government holding various portfolios including the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker and Finance Minister.

The wing also doubted that Wong, who is Bawang Assan assemblyman, has the political will to bring more development to his constituency.

“Taking his constituency of Bawang Assan in which he has been the YB since 1991 as an example, it lacks infrastructure development despite being only a short distance away from Sibu town.

“This speaks volumes of his commitment and seriousness as a wakil rakyat (elected representative) and also after having served as a Cabinet Minister.

“It is obvious he did not work hard to push for infrastructure development, especially in rural areas,” the statement said.

Hence, PRS Central Women’s Wing believed that Wong was not an inclusive leader and a team player.

They also wondered whether it was possible for Wong to be an inclusive leader and a team player under the current system of collective decisions.

On the other hand, PRS Central Women’s Wing noted that the current Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government is pursuing development, especially on narrowing the gap between urban and rural development. — DayakDaily
