KUCHING, Sept 28: The Mukah edition of the Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) Programme 2026 will take place from Oct 2–4 at Dataran Pehin Setia Raja.
In a press release from the Sarawak Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU), the Sarawak government-organised programme serves as an important platform for strengthening the relationship between the government and the people.
The programme brings together various government agencies, statutory bodies, and strategic partners under one roof, making it easier for the public to access available information, services, and assistance.
Throughout the three-day programme, visitors will have access to various exhibitions and service counters providing information on the policies, programmes, and development initiatives of the Sarawak government.
A total of 50 agencies will participate in the programme, offering 170 services for the public. The programme will also give members of the public opportunities to interact directly with government agencies to obtain accurate information, advice, and assistance on various public service matters.
A Talikhidmat counter will also be available as a one-stop channel to help members of the public obtain information, submit enquiries, and lodge complaints relating to Sarawak government services.
One of the programme’s key highlights is the enquiry counter for the Sarawak Basic Needs Contribution Initiative (SKAS) 2026, where members of the public can obtain further clarification on eligibility requirements, assistance rates, and the digital disbursement of assistance through the SPay Global platform.
Under SKAS 2026, eligible households will receive RM1,100, senior citizens RM600, and single individuals RM375. The initiative is expected to benefit nearly 800,000 recipients.
During the programme, 10 local recipients will also receive SKAS 2026 benefits as part of the government initiatives presentation session.
Visitors can also learn about the Sarawak Free Tertiary Education Scheme (FTES), including participating institutions, fields of study offered, and eligibility requirements.
At the programme, 10 students will receive benefits under the FTES as part of the presentation of Sarawak government initiatives. In addition, at least five students will receive offers under the Yayasan Sarawak International Secondary School (YSISS).
For youths and jobseekers, services under the Education and Human Capital Development cluster will provide information on employment opportunities, career development, and job-matching opportunities offered by participating employers.
The programme will also provide a range of healthcare services, including health screenings and consultations, fitness assessments, influenza vaccinations for senior citizens, and free health exhibitions.
To add to the excitement, various activities will also be held throughout the three days, including community games, cultural performances, and a People’s Concert.
At the same time, the Sarawakku Sayang Programme serves as a strategic platform to showcase Sarawak’s various achievements and development agenda implemented under the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030).
The officiating ceremony will be officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Saturday (Oct 3) at 10.30am.
Members of the public, particularly residents of Mukah Division and surrounding areas, are therefore invited to attend and take advantage of the various services, information, and opportunities available throughout the programme.
To add to the excitement, a total of 85 attractive prizes will also be offered to members of the public, with the grand prize being a Proton Saga. — DayakDaily
