KUCHING, Sept 28: In conjunction with the Mukah edition of the Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) Programme 2026 scheduled to take place from Oct 2–4 at Dataran Pehin Setia Raja, several roads in the area will be closed.
In a statement, Mukah district police chief DSP Muhamad Rizal Alias said road closures will be implemented from Oct 1 at 10pm until Oct 4 at 6pm to make way for the event which expects to see an attendance of approximately 10,000 people.
The roads that will be closed are Jalan Setia 1 and the junctions at Jalan Ceria and the Jalan Wawasan roundabout.
“Members of the public are reminded to not park their vehicles at locations that can cause traffic congestions,” he said.
At the same time, he also suggested that members of the public park their vehicles at the facilities available at Menara Pehin Setia Raja, the Sarawak Government Administration Centre, Setia Raja Mosque, and at commercial centres.
He also advised the public to follow the traffic control signs and instructions issued by police officers or traffic control personnel.
“Members of the public may also use alternative routes. Everyone’s cooperation is greatly appreciated to ensure the smooth running of this programme,” he said. — DayakDaily
