KUCHING, Dec 18: Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) has secured a second seat in the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) after Dr Johnichal Rayong Ngipa was able to retain N33 Engkilili with 3,246 votes.
Rayong lead with a 1,191-vote majority, while Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate Desmond Sateng Sanjan garnered 2,055 votes. Independent candidate Gemong Batu was a close third with 2,013 votes while Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) candidate Stel Datu only managed 151 votes.
With this win, Rayong will serve his fourth term as the Engkilili assemblyman.
The first Seat won by PSB in the 12th Sarawak Election (PRN12) was N81 Ba’Kelalan as Baru Bian retained the seat with 2,687 votes. — DayakDaily
