KUCHING, Aug 12: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to be discharged from hospital today after undergoing treatment, his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said.
Dr Wan Azizah said Anwar conveyed his appreciation to everyone who had prayed for his health and well-being.
“PMX sends his regards and thanks everyone who has prayed for his health and recovery,” she told reporters today as reported by Bernama News.
Dr Wan Azizah, who is also the Bandar Tun Razak MP, was speaking to reporters after attending the Semarak Merdeka Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary constituency programme in conjunction with the 2026 National Month celebrations at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Bandar Tun Razak branch office.
On Monday, Anwar was reported to have successfully undergone an elective laparoscopic procedure to treat a para-umbilical hernia.
He remains under close observation by a team of medical specialists. — DayakDaily
