Preschool building in Miri’s SJK Tukau suffers partial damage in morning fire

MIRI, Sept 21: A one-storey preschool building located at SJK Tukau on Jalan Bakam here was partially destroyed in a fire earlier today.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said a team of firefighters from Miri Station was dispatched to the location following a distress call.

Firefighters managed to extinguish and control the fire outbreak by 7.25am.

Following this, the team conducted comprehensive overhaul procedures to ensure there were no remaining sources of fire at the location before concluding the operation.

There were no reported casualties or injuries resulting from the incident.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the loss are still under investigation. — DayakDaily
