KUCHING, April 25: The Human Resource Management and Development Unit (UPPSM) of the Sarawak Premier’s Department has firmly denied claims that it or any Sarawak government agency has appointed individuals or third parties to offer job interview opportunities for positions within the Sarawak Civil Service.
In a statement today, UPPSM emphasised that it views the matter seriously, following reports that certain parties were allegedly offering interview opportunities in exchange for payments or other incentives.
“All applications for vacancies in the Sarawak Civil Service must be made online through the official website at https://erecruitment.sarawak.gov.my.
“The recruitment and selection process is based on principles of meritocracy and eligibility according to established service schemes. No payments are required at any stage of the application,” the statement read.
The department confirmed that a police report has been lodged and that the case is currently under investigation by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
UPPSM also urged the public to remain cautious and not to fall victim to such fraudulent offers.
Members of the public are advised to immediately report any suspicious activities or potential scams to the relevant authorities.
“Legal action can and will be taken against those found guilty of perpetrating fraud,” the statement concluded. — DayakDaily
