Premier witnesses AIROD-SATYS joint venture signing in France, marking boost for M’sia’s aerospace industry

KUCHING, May 5: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg witnessed the signing ceremony of a joint venture agreement (JVA) between AIROD and SATYS at a hotel in Toulouse, France, on Sunday (May 4).

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the signing ceremony concluded with the exchange of documents between Datuk Firhad Uzir Abdul Rahim on behalf of AIROD and Christopher Cador, the chief executive officer of SATYS.

AIROD is Malaysia’s leading aerospace maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) organisation, while SATYS is a French company renowned for its expertise in aircraft painting and coating.

This agreement is expected to create strong synergies through the collaboration of global best practices and extensive local expertise.

This joint venture will stimulate growth, drive technological advancements and open new opportunities in the Malaysian aerospace ecosystem, particularly in supporting Sarawak’s aspirations in this sector.

Also present to witness the signing ceremony were Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan; Sarawak Minister for Transport, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin; Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; Sarawak Attorney General, Dato Sri Saferi Ali; Sarawak Financial Secretary, Dato Sri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar; Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Economic Planning and Development), Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel; NADI group chairman, Tan Sri Ahmad Johan, and other distinguished guests.
