Premier to officiate new Dayak Bidayuh National Association hostel in Sept

KUCHING, Aug 11: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is scheduled to officiate the opening of the new Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA) community hostel sometime next month.

According to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) report, this followed a courtesy call by the DBNA to the Premier at Kompleks Satria Pertiwi here today.

“The purpose of the courtesy call was to invite the Premier to DBNA’s 70th anniversary dinner, as well as to officially open our hostel, which was funded by a grant from the Sarawak government through the Premier,” said DBNA advisor Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn.

At the same time, the Minister for Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Sarawak said that the meeting was also to discuss several recent developments related to development projects in the Kuching, Bau, and Serian areas.

DBNA president Datu Ik Pahon Joyik, DBNA deputy president Dr Charlie Ungang, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Transport (Riverine and Maritime) and Tasik Biru assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep, Serian MP Dato Sri Richard Riot Jaem, Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin, Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh, Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus, Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada, and Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang were also present.

Earlier, Abang Johari also received a courtesy call from Sarawak Police Commissioner Dato Mancha Ata and the Head of the Special Branch (KCK) of the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK), SAC Mohd Taufik Abdullah. — DayakDaily
