KUCHING, April 25: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg will officiate the newly built Bidayuh Cultural Centre in Bau on June 23, 2026.
Deputy Minister for Transport II (Riverine and Marine) Datuk Henry Harry Jinep disclosed this in a recent Facebook post.
“The opening ceremony of the Bidayuh Cultural Centre in Bau will be officiated by the Premier on June 23,” he said.
Located in the heart of Greater Bau, the RM9 million Bidayuh Cultural Centre, implemented under Projek Rakyat (People’s Project), will serve as a symbol of identity and pride for the Bidayuh community.
The centre features a grand hall capable of accommodating more than 1,000 people, or approximately 100 banquet tables, as well as a canteen for daily operations, a meeting room, exhibition and gallery spaces, and a Baruk (traditional Bidayuh roundhouse) as its iconic centrepiece.
It will be managed by the Dayak Bidayuh National Association (DBNA). — DayakDaily
