BAU, July 28: The 8th edition of the Siniawan Country Music Festival 2025, touted as one of the biggest of its kind in Asia, is slated to take place at the newly completed RM9 million Siniawan Waterfront from Sept 26 to 28.

The event will coincide with three major milestones—the 185th anniversary of Siniawan town, the 15th anniversary of the Siniawan Night Market and the official opening of the Siniawan Waterfront.

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is scheduled to officiate the opening ceremony of the waterfront at 10am on Sept 27.

Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh said the expanded venue will help accommodate a larger turnout this year.

“For our 8th edition of the Siniawan Country Music Festival 2025, we’re having it at a much bigger venue (Siniawan Waterfront), so we are expecting a large crowd turnout for the three-day event,” he told a press conference recently.

He added that the festival will feature performances from several local bands and artists, as well as acts from Indonesia and Sabah.

On preparations for the venue, Miro said the waterfront project will be fully completed by the end of this month.

“The contractor is now doing the final touch on the project and it will be ready for our Siniawan Country Music Festival and the official opening,” he said.

Miro also revealed that a multi-level car park project costing about RM28 million, along with a proposed Siniawan Arena, are in the pipeline as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the town’s infrastructure.

According to him, the car park will be able to accommodate around 400 vehicles, while the arena will be able to seat up to 5,000 spectators.

“Our idea to have all these projects is to bring vibrancy to Siniawan town and to bring in tourists,” he explained. – DayakDaily
