KUCHING, Jan 12: The Sarawak government will transform Sarawak ID into Sarawakpass which will further be enhanced to become the digital platform to disburse targeted assistance to Sarawakians.
Speaking during keynote address at Majlis Amanat Perdana for Sarawak Civil Service held at Borneo Convention Center Kuching (BCCK) here today, Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said during his visit to Singapore previously, he was briefed by Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Lawrence Wong that Singapore government is giving their targeted assistance to Singaporean through digital vouchers.
When recipients purchase sugar, rice and other essentials commodities using these digital vouchers, the expenses will be deducted from the digital vouchers.
“This means there will be little abuse because they are (the vouchers) given direct to the recipients.
“Hopefully by 2025, we will do the same thing in Sarawak,” he added. – DayakDaily
