KUCHING, April 28: Sarawak could potentially overtake Selangor in terms of economic performance in the future, says Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

Abang Johari said Sarawak has overtaken Johor and now stands among the top three states contributing to Malaysia’s economy.

“Maybe soon, we will overtake Selangor,” he told reporters when met after launching the national-level World Water Day celebration at Kuching Waterfront today.

He said that Sarawak’s economic potential also has attracted a lot of investors.

“Sarawak is like a gem, and many have acknowledged us,” he added. — DayakDaily
