SIBU, April 25: There will be a new development in Sarawak in three months’ time that will benefit the small and medium enterprises (SMEs), says Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Without revealing details, he said, it involves an institution that can expand Sarawak’s economy.
“In three months’ time, I will bring another development to Sarawak that will impact the small and medium enterprises. Today I won’t reveal it. Let us pray for it first.
“In three months’ time, we will have one institution that will expand our economy,” he said during the Aidilfitri celebration with Sibu community at Dewan Lakis here today.
Meanwhile, Abang Johari said the Sarawak government is actively exploring new technology and new base revenue for Sarawak.
He said the new economies Sarawak are venturing into, one of which includes carbon trading, is bound to change Sarawak’s economic landscape for the better.
“We are going to explore new technology and new base revenue, and that will change Sarawak.
“God-willing, Peninsular Malaysia is starting to look up to us because Sarawak has already changed,” said Abang Johari.
Among other dignitaries also present at the community gathering were Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Dr Annuar Rapaee, Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Office (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, and Deputy Minister of Public Health, Local Government and Housing Michael Tiang. — DayakDaily
