KUCHING, May 27: Lawas is being considered to be elevated to a division.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said this includes other areas such as Limbang and Baram.
“The matter was proposed previously, and a study will be conducted by State Secretary’s office,” he said.
Abang Johari told this to reporters during a press conference held after chairing the State Development Coordination Committee Meeting (SDCCM) in Lawas today.
He added that the formation of the divisions would also mean the creation of new districts that would provide a more holistic development approach and a positive effect on the administration of those parts. — DayakDaily
