Premier kicks off 4-day official visit to Singapore to explore trade, investment opportunities

KUCHING, Oct 14: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has arrived in Singapore today to begin his four-day official working visit, which is scheduled to run until October 17.

The Premier, along with a delegation from the Sarawak government, arrived at around 5pm and was received by Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, and the State Attorney-General, Dato Sri Saferi Ali.

During his visit to Singapore, Abang Johari is scheduled to attend several key events, including the Sarawak Mega Fair 2025 at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Sarawak Mega Fair 2025 is a trade and investment conference and exhibition themed ‘Expanding Trade and Investment in Sarawak’.

At the event, the Premier will deliver a keynote address on trade and investment opportunities, followed by the launch of the Sarawak Export Programme by the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED).

The event will also feature the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Memorandums of Agreement (MoAs) between agencies and strategic industry partners, as well as the launch of trade and investment exhibition booths.

In addition, Abang Johari is scheduled to attend an engagement session with International Fund Managers in conjunction with the Sarawak Mega Fair in Singapore.

On October 17, he is expected to hold an official meeting with Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong before returning to Sarawak.

This official visit is expected to further strengthen the close ties between Sarawak and Singapore in the areas of trade, investment, as well as high-impact social and educational collaboration. — DayakDaily
