KUCHING, Dec 10: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg arrived in Nanjing, China today to witness the signing of a Framework Agreement involving Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) and to conduct a field study at the renowned Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP).
According to the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the Premier began his official working visit with an engagement session with the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government.
Abang Johari and the Sarawak delegation will later witness the signing of a Framework Agreement between PETROS and China Jiangsu International Economic and Technical Cooperation Group Ltd (CJI) at the CJI Headquarters in Nanjing.
On the third day of the visit, the Premier is scheduled to attend a series of high-impact sessions at SIP, one of China’s most successful industrial, technology and innovation development hubs.
While there, he will receive a development briefing at the SIP Exhibition Hall and One Stop Centre, followed by an official meeting with the SIP Administrative Committee. The itinerary also includes site visits to several leading companies operating within the park.
Renowned for its smart manufacturing, automation and high-tech research ecosystem, SIP serves as a key reference point for Sarawak as it advances its technology-driven and green energy–focused economic model in line with the State’s development aspirations.
The Sarawak delegation comprises of PETROS chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Hamid Bugo, Deputy Minister of Utilities (Sarawak Energy Berhad and PETROS) Datuk Ibrahim Baki, PETROS Group chief executive officer Dato Janin Girie, and other senior officials. – DayakDaily
