KUCHING, Dec 7: Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (Tegas) will be building a new hostel for visiting students and guests to the Tegas Digital Village (TDV).

This was revealed by the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg when he officiated at the Shell LiveWire Sarawak 2022 Award Ceremony at TDV here today.

He said TDV has been receiving students and guests from outside Sarawak and there is a need to provide proper accommodation for them.

“We are going to build this hostel so that our students or other visitors can stay here while they visit the factories here (at Samajaya High Tech Park).

“They can stay here with a very cheap price because it will be subsidised, and that will also expose the young to technology,” he said.

Abang Johari said this was proposed by Tegas chairman Datuk Len Talif Salleh, which he fully supports.

“The funds for it, I will approve, and (the amount) will be according to the proposed designs, facilities and so on,” he said at a press conference after the event.
