Premier Abang Johari inspects police housing upgrades, joins Sarawak PDRM officers for breaking-of-fast

KUCHING, March 16: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the welfare of law enforcement officers by inspecting ongoing housing upgrades, before joining Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Sarawak officers for a breaking-of-fast (iftar) event yesterday (March 15).

According to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, Abang Johari arrived at the Tabuan Jaya Police Housing Complex around 6.20pm and toured several areas of the quarters, which have received funding from the Sarawak government for refurbishment.

The visit underscored the State’s dedication to ensuring the well-being of security personnel serving in Sarawak.

Following the inspection, the Premier and his entourage made their way on foot to Masjid Al-Muhajidin, where they awaited the Maghrib prayer before partaking in the communal iftar.

The event began with light refreshments, followed by congregational Maghrib prayers and a full meal with the police personnel.

After iftar, Abang Johari also joined the congregation for Isyak and Tarawih prayers, adding a spiritual significance to the occasion.

To conclude the evening, the Premier was presented with a token of appreciation for his presence at the gathering.

Among those attending the event were Sarawak Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (MEESTY), Datuk Dr Hazland Abang Hipni; Chief Political Secretary to the Premier, Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman; Sarawak Police Commissioner, Dato Mancha Ata; Deputy Police Commissioner, Saifullizan Ishak; and other distinguished guests. — DayakDaily
