KUCHING, March 13: Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, will be officiating the Sarawak-level Nuzul Al-Quran Celebration for the year 1446H/2025M set to be held on Monday, March 17, in Serian.
According to a news report by TVS, the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Jumaani Tun Tuanku Bujang are also expected to grace the event.
Deputy Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications of Sarawak, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, shared that with the theme ‘Sarawak Maju Makmur’, the event is expected to attract approximately 1,000 congregants who will witness the occasion.
“800 guests, including community leaders, government staff, representatives from mosques, suraus, organisations, associations, military, police, students, and the public, are expected to attend the event,” he was quoted as saying while chairing a press conference for the Sarawak-level Nuzul Al-Quran Celebration 1446H/2025M at the Serian Resident’s Office here today.
The celebration event will be held at the Serian District Mosque starting at 6pm.
According to him, the event would also be graced with the breaking of fast, congregational Maghrib, Isyak, and Tarawih prayers, a Nuzul Al-Quran sermon by the Sarawak Mufti Datu Kipli Yassin, and the inauguration of the upgraded Serian District Mosque.
In conjunction with the Nuzul Al-Quran celebration, Dr Abdul Rahman said various side events are also expected to be held, such as the Sarawak Islamic Affairs Forum and Rahmah Sale on March 14, a Lecture on March 15, and the Mushaf Exchange and Quran Hour on March 17.
Also present were the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) president Datuk Misnu Taha and other distinguished guests. – DayakDaily
