PPVINs at Lavang, Rajawali plantations to inoculate some 4,000 workers starting tomorrow

The PPVINs at Lavang Plantation and Rajawali Plantation will start operation tomorrow (July 8, 2021).

BINTULU, July 7: The industry vaccination centres (PPVINs) at Lavang Plantation and Rajawali Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd here will start rolling out Covid-19 vaccinations for some 4,000 workers tomorrow (July 8).

Bintulu MP Dato Sri Tiong King Sing revealed that a total of 2,044 workers from Lavang Plantation and 1,926 workers from Rajawali Plantation are expected to be inoculated at the PPVINs.

“Two more PPVINs for Shin Yang and Samling are still awaiting approval from Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) to be allowed to operate.


“PPVIN Shin Yang is targeting to inoculate 1,600 workers while PPVIN Samling to cater for some 1,000 workers,” he said in a statement on his Facebook page yesterday.

Tiong, who is also the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to China, urged all oil palm plantation estate operators to collaborate with the authorities especially Bintulu Health Office in coordinating vaccinations for their employees.

“This is to ensure that all plantation workers will not miss out on receiving the Covid-19 vaccine to protect them from the disease,” he added.

Meanwhile, Food Panda delivery riders were among those getting their vaccinations at the Dinner World vaccination centre today.

Tiong emphasised that food delivery riders are among the unsung heroes of this pandemic as they braved the risk of Covid-19 to bring food to people’s doorsteps.

“They worked tirelessly through the rain and heat as well as (are) exposed to the risks of infection to ensure people under move (sic) restrictions don’t starve.

“To all frontliners, take good care of your health and protect yourself by adhering to all safety and health measures, standard operating procedures (SOP), maintain physical distance and wear your face masks when carrying out your duties,” he advised. — DayakDaily
