KUCHING, Nov 6: Potential flash floods are expected during the monsoon transition phase, which started from Sept 19 and will last until the end of November.
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in a statement today, during the transition phase, the country will receive weak wind speeds from various directions that are conducive to thunderstorms and usually bring heavy rain with strong winds in a short period of time.
“This will happen mainly in the evening and early at night in most areas of states on the West Coast and interior region of Peninsula Malaysia, Western region of Sabah, including in Western and Central region of Sarawak,” it said.
The department added that the weather conditions also have the potential to cause damage to structures that are not solid. — DayakDaily
