KUCHING, July 10: Malaysia and Uzbekistan are moving towards closer ties and further collaboration.

This followed Entrepreneur Development and Co-operatives (MEDAC) Minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar receiving a visit from the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Malaysia.

“We took the time to discuss further collaboration of both countries, especially the cooperation in business development and entrepreneurship,” said Wan Junaidi of his meeting with His Excellency Ravshan Usmanov yesterday.

“Our discussion focused on Malaysia’s experience in handling the Covid-19 pandemic as well as Malaysia’s initiative in developing micro-entrepreneurs and micro-businesses at the end of the MCO (Movement Control Order),” said Wan Junaidi in his social media posting.

Wan Junaidi said Ravshan had also asked for these initiatives to be shared by governmental agencies under MEDAC, through a virtual meeting with the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce.

Ravshan had also invited Wan Junaidi to visit Uzbekistan in the future once the threat of Covid-19 is a thing in the past.—DayakDaily
