KUCHING, March 4: A police officer claimed trial to a charge of raping his 19-year-old daughter at a Sessions Court today.
The accused is currently a police officer at Batu Kawa Police Station.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge framed under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term between eight and 30 years and whipping of not less than 10 times upon conviction.
Sessions Court Judge Maris Agan allowed the accused to be released on cash bail of RM1,000 with one local surety.
The case was fixed for mention on April 18.
The accused allegedly raped his 19-year-old daughter at the police quarters in March 2021.
According to the brief facts of the case, it was the mother of the victim who lodged a police report when she learned that her husband committed incest rape on his biological daughter.
