Policeman from Pahang shot dead in a house at Jalan Permai, Sibu

SIBU, May 6: Police are investigating into the death of a policeman which happened at about 7pm today, under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

A police team rushed to the house upon receiving a call that a policeman was found dead in the house.

Sibu District Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the victim, Norhalim Tumiran, 25, from Pahang was found with gunshot wound on his right ear in a house at Lane 9, Jalan Permai.


“Prior to the incident, the victim who was staying at the police headquarters came to the house which was occupied by five persons. He was then playing computer games before breaking fast,” said ACP Stanley.

ACP Stanley said the deceased was sitting on a sofa at the time of the incident.

He added that the victim was transferred here about one-and-a-half months and was attached with the Motorcycle Patrol Unit (URB) of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department (JPJKK).

The victim is survived with a wife and a one-year old child. — DayakDaily
