Police seize drugs worth RM1,000, two arrested

MIRI, May 2: A transvestite and his alleged male lover were arrested by the police this morning for suspected drug possession.

The suspects, aged 27 and 29, were picked up from a room of a budget hotel at Jalan Nahkhoda Gampar by a team of police from the Miri Narcotics Department at 11.05am.


Miri police chief, ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted today, confirmed the arrests.

“During the 11.05am raid, the team discovered and seized 27 tube straws believed to contain methamphetamine with a street value of RM1,000,” he said.

The seized drugs weighing 6.25g. Also seized were two unused condoms.

The suspects are currently detained at Miri Narcotic police office for questioning.

The case is being investigated under Section 39A (1) and Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

One of the suspects also tested positive for drugs. — DayakDaily
