Police seize 1.7kg of Ecstasy worth RM32,400, arrest two suspects in Miri

MIRI, Dec 10: A local man and his foreign female acquittance were detained by the Miri narcotics police on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking.

According to Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu in a statement today, the suspects were detained during a raid yesterday (Dec 9) together with drugs believed to be Ecstasy weighing at 1,700 grammes worth around RM32,400.

He added, the seized drugs were believed to be meant for the local market.


“The suspects aged 23 and 48-years-old were arrested around 4.35pm by the police,” he stated.

Both suspects were produced in Miri Court and have been remanded for five days to facilitate the police investigation into the case.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — DayakDaily
