Man killed after car falls down slope in Miri, sibling survives

The body was retrieved by Batu Niah firefighters.

MIRI, Dec 11: One person was killed, while his brother survived following a single-vehicle crash along Jalan Pan Borneo, near Ladang Chart Quest yesterday.

The accident which is believed to have taken place around 3.30pm involved a Proton Saga FLX which had veered and fallen about 20 feet down a slope.

A team of firefighters from Batu Niah firestation was mobilised to the scene to help retrieve the deceased, after receiving a distress call on the incident around 5.57pm.


The 51 year-old deceased is believed to have been ejected from the car when it fell down the slope.

His body was discovered at about three metres away from the car, lying face down.

His remains were handed over to the police for further action.

Firefighters ended the operation around 8.12pm. — DayakDaily
