Police nab suspect, recover stolen 4WD vehicle within an hour near Jln Kuching-Serian

KUCHING, March 26: Police swiftly recovered a stolen four-wheel-drive vehicle and arrested a suspect just an hour after the theft was reported, following a high-alert operation along Jalan Kuching-Serian on March 25.

According to Padawan District police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, the vehicle owner lodged a report at the Kota Sentosa Police Station at around 11am, stating that his 4WD had been stolen from Batu 3, Jalan Penrissen at approximately 10.30am on the same day.

“The stolen vehicle was spotted at around 11.30am along Jalan Kuching-Serian. A police patrol vehicle (MPV) successfully intercepted the vehicle and detained a 27-year-old local male suspect,” he said in a statement issued at 6.20pm on March 25.

The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code for vehicle theft. — DayakDaily
