KUCHING, June 13: A second suspect has been apprehended by the police in connection with a daring home-invasion robbery that took place on June 10 at Jalan Stampin Tengah here.
Kuching District Police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the arrest of the 29-year-old local man occurred today around 12.52am in Kota Sentosa.
The individual has a criminal history comprising 23 past records, and a drug test yielded positive results.
In a statement yesterday, the police confirmed receiving a report of the case where three masked men forcefully entered a residence situated along Jalan Stampin Tengah and made off with various food items.
Following investigation, Ahsmon said IPD Kuching Counter Agrressive Team (CAT) apprehended the first suspect at about 5.20am yesterday (June 12).
The suspect possessed a record of four previous serious criminal and drug-related offenses, and a drug test also confirmed the presence of methamphetamine.
Additionally, the police confiscated nine tools believed to have been used in house break-ins.
The third suspect is still being pursued by the authorities.
A case has been opened under Section 457 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term of up to 14 years, along with fines and whipping, if found guilty. — DayakDaily
