KUCHING, May 31: Police have identified the assailant who hammered and shot a Grab driver with a home-made airgun in Matang, here, yesterday.
This development was related to Padungan assemblyman Wong King Wei by the victim, Sim Teck Howe, when Wong visited him at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) earlier today.
“The victim told me that the police have identified the assailant through the record found in the Grab application.
“I urge the police to arrest the suspect soonest and bring him to justice,” Wong said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, Wong said Sim had gone through an operation to remove six tiny pieces of residue as a result from the assault by the foreigner whom Sim had picked up at Kuching Sentral and supposedly to be sent to the Jantayu Strawberry Farm.
“Those residues were taken out from his neck and face. I wish him a speedy recovery,” said Wong.
From his hospital bed, Sim advised fellow Grab drivers to not take passengers offline from the Grab app.
He cautioned that doing so would result in no record of the identity of the passenger should any untoward incident happen. — DayakDaily
