KUCHING: The police inspector who shot his two months pregnant girlfriend was detained six hours after her body was found.
Media reports that the suspect in his 30s was detained at 9.35pm at Emart Matang without any resistance.
Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mazlan Mansor said the suspect who is a senior officer attached with Belaga Police Station is not married with the victim as alleged in the social media posting that went viral on Sunday.
“As far as we are concerned, they are boyfriend and girlfriend. Official records shows that he is divorced,” said Mazlan at reported in The Borneo Post.
Investigations shows that the suspect entered the victim’s home and shot her sometime at 3.30pm after neighbours heard gunshot from the house in Kampung Kakai, Serian.
The case is classified as murder and the suspect is currently remanded pending investigations. – dayakdaily.com
