Police hunting 11 more suspects involved in Hui Sing petrol station fracas

KUCHING, March 17: Police here are searching for 11 more men suspected to be involved in a recent incident at Hui Sing which saw several men smashing a car with sharp objects at a petrol station.

Police personnel from Kuching Criminal Investigation Department and Sarawak Contingent formed a team immediately following the incident and managed to arrest 10 suspects.

Earlier today, the 10 suspects ranging in age from 17 to 41 were remanded at the Kuching Magistrates Court.


“The police is still tracking down another 11 suspects, ages ranging from 20 to 50-years-old around Padawan and Kuching area,” District Police Chief, ACP Awang Din Awang Gani revealed in a statement.

According to Awang Din, the police believe that the 11 suspects are still in the state and he urged the public to report information on the suspects if they have any at the nearest police station.

“We also remind the public not to hide the suspects and action will be taken if they do so,” he added.

The suspects will be investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code. The public may contact Inspector Ammarsoffi Yusoff at 012-3985397 or 082-244444 if they have information about the 11 suspects. — DayakDaily
