Police detain man running amok in Kota Samarahan home; knife, scissors seized

KUCHING, Dec 28: A man who was running amok at a house in Kampung Merdang Limau in Kota Samarahan was detained by police during a crime prevention patrol on Friday (Dec 26).

In a statement, Kota Samarahan District Police Chief, Superintendent Damataries Lautin, said a Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) unit from the District Police Headquarters (IPD) received information from the operations room regarding a man causing a disturbance at his residence.

The on-duty MPV personnel immediately rushed to the location and detained the suspect using minimal force.

“Police also seized a knife and a pair of scissors at the scene. The suspect and the confiscated items were taken to the Kota Samarahan IPD for further action,” he said.

The public is encouraged to channel any information related to crime to the Kota Samarahan IPD at 082-662300 or through the Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) application to enable immediate action to be taken for the safety of the community. — DayakDaily
