KUCHING, July 21: Police have confirmed that the case of a 22-year-old man who was crushed to death by a car at a workshop behind a gas station in Miri is being investigated as a sudden death.
Miri District Police Chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said a report was received at Miri Central Police Station earlier today following the incident involving the local man, who had been carrying out maintenance work when the tragedy occurred.
“The case is currently being investigated as a sudden death,” he said in a statement.
He also urged the public not to speculate or circulate unverified information about the incident out of respect for the victim’s family.
“There have been images of the deceased in a distressing condition shared on social media.
“We strongly advise the public to delete such content to preserve the dignity and privacy of the family,” he added.

Earlier, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported receiving an emergency call about the incident at 11.03am. Firefighters used rescue tools to extricate the victim before handing the body over to the police and Health Ministry personnel for further action. — DayakDaily
