KUCHING, Oct 6: Police have arrested a 21-year-old local man in Saratok over his alleged involvement in a fire-related case at a convenience store along Green Road here.
According to Saratok district police chief DSP Mathew Manggie, police arrested the suspect at about 4pm on Sunday (Oct 5). Police also seized two mobile phones during the arrest.
Preliminary investigations found that the suspect is believed to be involved in the fire-related mischief case at a convenience store along Jalan Green Road here.
Police said the suspect has two previous records—one case under Section 4A(a) of the Road Transport Act 1953, for which he was convicted, and another under Section 302 of the Penal Code in Kota Sentosa in 2025, in which he was arrested.
Police made the arrest in connection with Saratok Report 3708/26, investigated under Section 436 of the Penal Code.
Police have classified the case as solved. — DayakDaily
