Police arrest 2 after viral video shows drivers wielding knives at Serian traffic light

KUCHING, Nov 16: Two men have been arrested by the police after a video of them fighting at a traffic light in Serian went viral today.

Serian district police chief DSP Aswandy Anis in a statement today said police found the nine second duration video through the WhatsApp app involving both men, who are the drivers of a Proton Saga and a Toyota Avanza, respectively.

“In the video, both men are seen arguing with each other while holding a knife and a machete.


“A police report has been made regarding the incident and both suspects have been arrested for further investigation,” he said.

He reminded members of the public that carrying a dangerous weapon is an offense under the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958 (Revised 1988).

“Stern action will be taken against any individuals who intentionally disturb the peace in the community,” he added.

He also advised members of the public to always be considerate when sharing the road and to follow the traffic laws. — DayakDaily
