Police arrest 10 individuals in 2 separate drug raids

KUCHING, Aug 29: Police have arrested 10 individuals in two separate raids for suspected drug abuse, yesterday.

Sarawak Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) chief, Supt Hasnir Abdul Hamid, said the police raided a house at Lorong W, Jalan Foo Chow No 1 at about 3pm.

Three men and two women, aged between 21 and 33,Ā were detained after police found several packets of crystalised substance believed to be syabu weighing 7.08 grammes in a chocolate sling bag belonging to one of the suspects.


They also found similar substance weighing 0.57 grammes hidden in one piece of straw on one of the suspectā€™s pants.

At the same time, police also arrested four men, aged between 26 and 49, who came to the house, allegedly buying the said substance.

All the nine suspectsā€™s urine test also revealed positive Methamphetamine.

In Sibu, police raided an unnumbered house at Jalan Hock Ming, Sungai Bidut,Ā at about 12.30pm.

Upon questioning, a 44 year old man who was alone in the house handed over a black plastic bag,Ā which was kept in the pocket of his shorts.

Police found crystalised substance believed to be syabu weighing 12.08 grammes worth RM1,200 in the plastic bag.

The suspects are being investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1) (a) and Section 12(2) of Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. ā€” DayakDaily
