PM, Cabinet tenders resignation to Agong

KUCHING, Aug 16: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the Cabinet have officially tendered their resignations to Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today.

According to MalayMail Online, the Pagoh MP had an audience with the King after chairing a Cabinet meeting this morning.


Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin who was Science, Technology and Innovation Minister in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government in an Instagram post said, “The Cabinet has tendered our resignation to the Agong.

“Thank you for the opportunity to, once again, serve the nation.

“May God bless Malaysia.”

In the meantime, it is uncertain who will succeed Muhyiddin as the prime minister with Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob being one of the names proposed by the United Malays National Organisation (Umno).

Muhyiddin is expected to address the nation later today. — DayakDaily
