KOTA SAMARAHAN, March 30: Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim has described the cooperation between the Federal government and the Sarawak government as the best in the country.

He noted that the cooperation shown by the Sarawak government has been the best among other state governments despite some critical issues, such as the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) currently being discussed between both parties.

He addressed his comment to the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg; Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian; and Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, in front of about 2,000 guests.

“Based on my experience, Dr Sim, Abdul Karim, Douglas (Uggah), and of course, Abang Johari, I believe that the cooperation with the Sarawak government, although there are certain critical issues such as MA63 (currently being resolved), is by far the best State-Federal cooperation in the country,” he said during the Sarawak-level Breaking of Fast Madani event held at Al-Mutaqqin Mosque here today.

During the event, Anwar also presented contributions to 150 asnaf from Kuching, Serian and Samarahan.

Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof; Federal Minister of Women, Family and Community Development-cum-Santubong MP Dato Sri Nancy Shukri; Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek; and Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad. — DayakDaily
