KUCHING, Nov 25: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will reduce the Federal Cabinet size and propose reducing its members’ salaries.

“The size of the Cabinet will certainly be reduced, and I also ask that the new Cabinet members agree to my proposal to reduce their salaries.

“However, this is still in the process of discussion and preparation,” he said when responding to a reporter’s query on the upcoming Federal Cabinet during a press conference broadcast by Bernama TV on Facebook today.

When asked how soon the matter could be materialised, he replied, “As soon as possible”.

On the distribution of Cabinet posts to component coalitions that make up the unity government, he said he would have to refer to them first.

“We have to understand that the unity government means the Prime Minister has to refer to the respective parties, and each will propose the names (for the cabinet posts). Then, I will give such consideration (to appoint them into the Cabinet),” he added. — DayakDaily
