Plaza Merdeka Shopping Mall presents RM10,000 to Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society

KUCHING, Dec 17: Plaza Merdeka Shopping Mall has presented RM10,000 to Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) as part of its 10th year anniversary celebration.

The mock cheque was presented by Managing Director of Plaza Merdeka Holdings Sdn Bhd and Merdeka Waterfront Hotel Sdn Bhd Dato Steve Ng today.


In conjunction with the celebration, Plaza Merdeka Shopping Mall also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with AirAsia on its AirAsia Ride X Plaza Merdeka Shopping Center.

The partnership provide a special promo code ‘PLAZAMERDEKA’ for the mall’s visitors to enjoy RM3 off for their ride to and from Plaza Merdeka, starting today until November 2023.

Apart from that, from Dec 24 until Jan 2, 2023, visitors can also use promo code ‘PMJOY’ for RM2 off the ride.

Among other programmes organised were dance and singing performances, Christmas caroling, as well as a prize presentation for its 10th anniversary Grand Draw winners.

Ng, Anriza and Azerina blowing the candles on the Plaza Merdeka 10th year anniversary cake, while other distinguished guest together with Plaza Merdeka staff members look on.

Plaza Merdeka was officially launched on Dec 12, 2012 and has attracted over 5 million visitors. It is also a proud member of the revitalisation of Kuching’s historical district.

For 2023, Plaza Merdeka will expand its eateries with about 300 seating capacity, including housing a Makeramai Makerspace, as well as a cinema. — DayakDaily
