SIBU, Sept 18: Plantation workers stumbled upon an unexploded bomb at KTS Agriculture oil palm plantation in Igan this afternoon.
The discovery was made at about 1.35pm, prompting the workers to inform the police.
Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, who confirmed the discovery, said a team of the police bomb disposal unit was immediately dispatched to the site located some 25 kilometres away from the Sibu police district headquarters.
The old and rusty mortar was destroyed at at 4.05pm. No injuries were reported during the detonation. — DayakDaily
