KUCHING, Oct 8: Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak will work with local parties in the State under its ‘big tent’ approach if they are willing to accept the coalition’s struggle, says Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

According to Saifuddin, due to the recent political developments in the country, there would not be any single party dominance and rules anymore.

“That is why the idea of a political coalition was formed, and we already have a coalition together with Democratic Action Party (DAP), Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) and United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (UPKO).

“So in a situation where the politics of this four-party coalition may not be enough, we are still open, as long as the parties that we will accept through this ‘big tent’ approach agrees with the principles and struggles of PH, including things agreed upon in the constitution, niche in the party, ‘pro-rakyat’ policies, cracking down on corruption and many others,” he told reporters during a press conference held at a local hotel today.

Saifuddin was responding to a question asked by the media regarding whether PH Sarawak will work together with other smaller parties in the State in the coming election.

“I think we have to understand first whether that level of approach is applicable or not, be it in Sarawak or in other states, it depends on the current political dynamic,” he said. — DayakDaily
