KUCHING, May 4: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak is proposing to “work together” with the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) led Sarawak government, similarly at the Federal level in the unity government for the benefit of the people.
PKR Sarawak deputy chairman Senator Abun Sui Anyit said this today, urging Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to be inclusive of PKR Sarawak, especially when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is the president of PKR.
“I hope that the Sarawak Premier can be inclusive, especially of us in PKR. Of course, DAP (Democratic Action Party) have made their stand.
“That is their stand, but for us, because the Prime Minister is also from PKR, I believe it’s good that we can work together during this Sarawak legislative assembly term.
“We can work together (for now), but when the election comes, it is up to the parties (to decide then), though I believe we cannot jump the gun,” he said.
Meanwhile, on another issue about recent rumours alleging Anwar has lost majority support, Abun Sui said the unity government is strongly intact under the leadership of the four main coalition leaders namely PH president Anwar, GPS chairman Abang Johari, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) president Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Abun Sui said as long as the four main coalitions stay together, it is impossible for the opposition to claim majority support.
“So don’t waste time saying that you have enough numbers or the Prime Minister has lost support. That is confusing the people,” he told the press conference at the PKR Aidilfitri open house at Jalan Satok here today.
Also present at the Aidilfitri open house were PKR Kuching branch chief Dominique Ng, Santubong branch chief Ahmad Nazib Johari, and Stampin branch chief David Chow. — DayakDaily
