Abang Johari leading Sarawak delegation to London Craft Week 2023

KOTA SAMARAHAN, May 4: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is leading a Sarawak delegation to London to participate in London Craft Week 2023 tomorrow.

Sarawak will be showcasing its exceptional handicrafts and rich cultural heritage as part of Malaysia’s participation under the patronage of Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah. This event will be held from May 6 to May 14.


In addition, Abang Johari said that he will also be visiting Oxford University, along with the Sarawak Islamic Centre.

“We will be joining a programme there and we will discuss global issues related to Islamic nations.

“I won’t be there (London) long because I have promised to announce the details of the new technology which will bring new revenue to Sarawak. This will be announced before the DUN (State Legislative Assembly) Sitting,” he told reporters today.

Abang Johari was met at the Hari Raya open house of Federal Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Kota Samarahan MP Datuk Rubiah Wang held at the Kota Samarahan Civic Centre.

At the event, Abang Johari also presented duit raya to 20 students from Community-based Rehabilitation Centre from Yayasan Pelajaran MARA.

Some 4,000 people visited Rubiah’s Raya open house where they were treated to a variety of Raya delicacies including ketupat, lemang, curry, laksa and cendol, as well as stage performances like dances and singing.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, and Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah were among those present. — DayakDaily
