PKR Sarawak extends gratitude to authorities for arrest of suspect in Bill Kayong murder

KUCHING, July 16: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak has conveyed the party’s gratitude to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for arresting Koong Siang Ming, a suspect connected to the murder of the late Bill Kayong.

Its information chief Abun Sui Anyit in a statement today said PKR Sarawak took note of the positive development in the murder of the late PKR Miri secretary, with the arrest of Koong Ming Siang as reported in DayakDaily and other news portals.

“As such, PKR Sarawak would like to thank and congratulate the enforcement authorities, especially the police for their continuous efforts which resulted in the arrest of the suspect,” he said.

Bill was shot dead inside his vehicle while stopped at a traffic light intersection in Kuala Baram in 2016.

He added that the late Bill was an active proponent in the fight for customary land issues against licensed oil palm companies.

“PKR Sarawak hopes that the suspect, who is believed to be involved in the murder of the late Bill Kayong will be investigated thoroughly and brought to court, in order to bring justice to the victim and his family members,” he added.

He also hoped that the public would not speculate anymore about the matter, as the case is still being investigated by the police. — DayakDaily
