KUCHING, June 16: PKR Puncak Borneo is still strong and will put up a good fight in the coming state and general elections.

According to PKR Puncak Borneo branch deputy chief Diog Dios, the party still has many supporters and the response from the public is growing and very encouraging.

“PKR (Puncak Borneo) is still strong and this can be seen when we visited several villages within Puncak Borneo parliamentary constituency and the feedback that we received from the people on the ground,” he claimed.

He added that the Puncak Borneo PKR team have visited several villages in Tarat, Mambong and Serumbu, which are the three state constituencies under the Puncak Borneo parliamentary seat.

Diog further claimed that the strength of the party branch could eventually contribute towards the victory of the party’s candidates for the three seats in the coming state election.

He disclosed the party has identified its candidates for Mambong and Tarat, and is identifying the candidate for Serumbu.

“In the case for the Mambong seat, we have identified the candidate, but this we need to talk with DAP (Democratic Action Party) first,” he explained, adding that the candidate for Puncak Borneo had also been identified.

He further disclosed that the party has also consistently informed the people in the area about the latest political developments in the state and country.

Diog also revealed that PKR Puncak Borneo is now headed by John Jeffery Sirabung Satiam, after former chairman Willie Mongin, who is also the Puncak Borneo MP, left the party. — DayakDaily
