PKR polls in Miri: Moderate turnout of voters as at 2.30pm

MIRI, Nov 10: Voter turnout for Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR)’s election here was more than 40 per cent at its polling centre in Gymkhana Club Miri (GCM) as at 2.30pm today.

This meant some 500 party members have cast their votes at GCM.

For Baram, the polling centre is near a shoplot in Bandar Baru Permyjaya, while for Sibuti, the polling centre is at the Saberkas Commercial Centre. At both these centres, voter turnout as at 2.30pm was about 30 per cent.

This meant that for Baram, about 700 members have cast their votes, while for Sibuti, some 100 voters have cast their ballots.

Many PKR members were found loitering at nearby coffeeshops in Miri after casting their votes.

DayakDaily was made to understand that for Miri, 10 tablets were used for the e-voting. The results from these three areas would be revealed after 6pm today.

A brief check on the ground found that the election process proceeded smoothly, with no untowards incident reported.

It is noted that many party members lingered at nearby coffeeshops after casting the votes to wait for the results. — DayakDaily
